stage 2 Development

Originally from a theatre background, Mike worked at Aardman Animations for fifteen years developing broadcast and feature animation.  He developed a range of animated films in various techniques including stop-frame, pixilation, CGI, and live-action combined with stop-frame, and from shorts, through series, to features.  Collaborating closely with writers and directors on story and script, through the extended process of design, story-reel and into animation, the main thrust of his work has been developing animated feature films. 

Mike worked closely with Nick Park, Steve Box and Mark Burton on Academy Award winning Wallace and Gromit, Curse of the Wererabbit.  He also contributed to the development of Peter Lord’s Pirates! ..in an Adventure with Scientists,  Flushed Away and Arthur Christmas.  After a period freelancing he returned to Aardman to run the BFI Aardman Development LAB, and since then has been developing a feature on Aardman’s slate, and another non-Aardman feature.
