Lee set up Sleeper Films after leaving Element Pictures where she had worked for 10 years, initially setting up their London offices as Head of Development before evolving into her role as a Producer.

Lee is a producer on Yorgos Lanthimos’ upcoming film The Favourite, written by Deborah Davis and Tony McNamara. Lee produced the film with Ceci Dempsey and Ed Guiney with financing from Fox Searchlight, Film4 and Waypoint Entertainment. The Favourite is in post production and stars Rachel Weisz, Olivia Colman, Emma Stone, Nicholas Hoult, Mark Gatiss and Joe Alwyn.

Lee produced Yorgos Lanthimos’ The Lobster with Ceci Dempsey & Ed Guiney. The Lobster was co-written by Yorgos Lanthimos and Efthimis Filippou and starred Colin Farrell, Rachel Weisz, Jessica Barden, Olivia Colman, Ashley Jensen, Ariane Labed, Angeliki Papoulia, John C. Reilly, Léa Seydoux, Michael Smiley and Ben Whishaw. The Lobster was awarded the Jury Prize at the 68th Cannes Film Festival in 2015 and won Best Screenplay and Best Costume Design at the European Film Awards in 2015. The film also received a nomination for Best Original Screenplay Academy Award at the 2017 Oscars.

Lee was Associate Producer on the Irish box office hit The Guard, directed by John Michael McDonagh and starring Brendan Gleeson and Don Cheadle.

Before joining Element in 2006, Lee headed up Focus Feature’s European offices as their VP of Acquisitions & Production – Europe from their inception in 2002 until the end of 2005. During that time, Lee’s responsibilities included overseeing Focus’ core activities in Europe, forging relationships with key European filmmakers and producers, bringing in new projects to the company and attending all key markets and festivals, working closely with Focus’ NY and LA offices. Prior to that, Lee worked in the central acquisitions team at PolyGram Filmed Entertainment, working closely with PolyGram’s production and international distribution arms and then at Universal Pictures International as Director of Acquisitions for a combined 7 years. During her time at Universal, Lee worked closely with Universal’s LA office and it’s international distribution company UIP. Lee began her career producing music videos in London.

Lee has been involved with a number of committees, panels and mentoring schemes such as BIFA nomination committee and screening panel for the 2017 BIFAs, Mentor for WFTV 2018 Mentoring Scheme, Active Mentor for Film London on a Microwave project due for production in 2018 and further MicroMarket projects, NFTS selection committee for new directors during Lynda Myles’ 10 year tenure as Head of Direction, Consultant for the Development Award Panel for Scottish Screen.

Lee has also produced Yorgos Lanthimos’ short film Necktie with Kate McColgan. The film was written and directed by Yorgos Lanthimos and commissioned by the Venice Film Festival in honour of their 70th Anniversary. Lee also produced the short film Candy, with Brett Webb and Partizan Films for the BBC Film Network, BBC HD & the UK Film Council/BFI, directed by upcoming award winning music video director Kinga Burza, starring Ella Purnell.
