stage 2 marketing consultant

Sarah Walker began her career as a trade journalist covering the international TV business. From 1994 to 1996 she was based in Hong Kong where she was the Asia Bureau chief for the FT Business TV titles and the launch editor of Cable and Satellite Asia. On returning to London, she became editor of Television Business International (TBI) magazine.

In 2002 she joined Pact, the UK TV and film trade body, as director of communications and marketing. There she was part of the team who successfully campaigned for independent producers to keep their rights.

After four great years at Pact, Sarah moved back into the international TV business, overseeing marketing and PR at Parthenon Entertainment and then Target Entertainment. In 2010 she joined Sony Pictures Television where she managed the marketing and consumer publicity for Sony’s formats and finished programmes, both in the UK and internationally.

In Autumn 2016, after a brief stint at the online rights trading platform TRX, Sarah set up on her own as a freelance marketing and PR consultant. Since then she has worked on a range of consultancy projects for companies in the TV production, distribution and digital sectors.
